On April 3, 2018, Mary Modeen, Associate Dean of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Arts & Design of University of Dundee of UK visited SCFAI. Zeng Yue, Head of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and Lv Xi, Vice Director of the School of Design of SCFAI had a meeting with Mary Modeen and Li Xiang, Honorary Chief Representative of DJCAD in China. Both parties had further discussions on teachers training, two-way student exchange program, workshop, exhibition of the works of faculty and students, and “2+2” undergraduate program.
To further promote the in-depth exchanges and cooperation between SCFAI and DJCAD and cultivate international talents, both parties agreed to exchange students for visiting and study. At the same time, we will launch teachers’ exchange and learning program, inviting leading teachers of DJCAD in the area of art design to visit SCFAI and letting teachers from SCFAI to visit DJCAD, so as to strengthen the visit and learning of the faculty. Efforts should be made to offer short-term teaching, workshops exchange, and joint research projects, which will diversify teaching work, and help students to access a large mount of professional resources to improve their professional abilities.
Both parties expressed expectation and confidence in cooperation. Mary sincerely invited us to participate in the Graduates Exhibition of University of Dundee in May and the opening ceremony of V&A Dundee on September 15.
On the next day, Mary visited our China-UK joint education experimental class, and interviewed 6 students who applied for places on the MFA Art & Humanities program of University of Dundee. The excellent design and expression of the students impressed Mary and all the six students successfully obtained offers.
